Accessibility Statement

The Austrian Society for Snow and Avalanches (ÖGSL) is committed to making its website accessible to all users. As a private association, we are not subject to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies. We nevertheless follow the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1" at conformance level AA on a voluntary basis, and publish this statement in order to be transparent about where we do not yet meet that standard.

This statement applies to the websites "oegsl.at" and "oegsl.org".

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of WCAG 2.1, owing to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-Accessible Content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  1. Some images in older semmelnare entries can lack alternative text, meaning this information is not accessible to screen reader users. WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content) is therefore not met. All new images are published together with alternative texts, and existing content is being remediated on an ongoing basis.
  2. On some pages the heading hierarchy (levels 2 to 5) is incomplete or not consistently marked up. WCAG success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) is therefore not met.

We are working to remedy these shortcomings.
